Today we have a review of our patient Kaushik Vaghani with his hair transplant journey for second session in this article with photographs and hope you will enjoy it and get the solution to your queries.
Kaushik Vaghani is 29 years 29-year-old male from Lucknow, in the Uttar Pradesh state of India.
He is suffering from Grade of baldness level 7. He had started hair fall complaints 6 to 7 years ago. He had started noticing baldness since last 3 to 4 years ago. At present, he has lost his hairline completely with hair loss in front, middle, and crown areas.
He had gone through a hair transplant for 2 years in some other clinic where he covered front area.
Along with hair loss, he has also complained of mild dandruff.
In the family, his maternal uncle having baldness. So, genetically he is more prone to hair loss.
Kaushik is not suffering from any medical issues.
He has no history of keloid in the body.
Kaushik had gone through a hair transplant before 2 years in some other clinic where he covered the front area. But not satisfied with the results.
Finally, he consulted Dr. Jinkal Kunjadiya, a famous dermatologist at our Surat branch. He was consulted with all details about hair transplant, and his hair and scalp health conditions. And also discussed his expectations and results of hair transplants with all advantages and disadvantages.
After getting a knowledge of hair transplant surgery, Kaushik got ready with the surgery at the Surat branch of Hairfree and Hairgrow clinic. And finally, he was taken for the hair transplant procedure.
Kaushik Vaghani’s hair transplant was done on 25th August 2023 using I-FUE technique and after transplant 5 PRP was done at 2-month intervals in 1 year.
He was also treated with supplements, DHT blocker, and Minoxidil 5% and 10% solution post-transplant to maintain and grow his transplanted hairs.
Also, a Trichoscopy analysis was done to check donor area hair quality and existing hair quality in the recipient area. The patient’s donor area is average to good hair quality is thick and the type of hair is mild wavy.
Then after anesthesia skin sensitivity test was done and found nonallergic to anesthesia content.
Afterward, Patient head was shaved for procedure and cleaned with betadine & alcohol.
Now Kaushik was taken to the operation theater for a hair transplant and local modified block anesthesia was given with vibration painless technique.
Slit making was done by an expert hair transplant surgeon team with Dr. Jinkal using a Metal Saphhire tip blade the size of blade is 1.2 for hairline and 1.4 for rest areas using a magnifying loupe.
Making a slit that is a small incision in the recipient area is a very important step because the angle and the direction of the slit give proper direction and overall look of the future transplanted hair.
Extraction of grafts is carefully done by an expert doctor using a magnifying loupe and a 0.8 mm sharp serrated sterile titanium punch used for extraction.
Around 140 to 160 minutes time taken for exctracting the grafts.
If we classify the Graft analysis of Kaushik, it was thick hairs, light to dark black in color. Double-rooted grafts are more in quantity. 40% were single-rooted grafts and rest 60% were multiple-root grafts containing double-rooted grafts from all extracted grafts.
we didn’t get enough grafts from the donor area so we went for beard extraction.
A total of 4226 grafts were extracted from the donor and beard area.
The extracted grafts were stored in a graft chiller machine dip in RL solution.
The final step is the implantation of extracted grafted into the slit. The Graft insertion was done by using a K.E.E.P implanter. Approximate Time taken for implantation was 4 hours.
After completion of implantation dressing was done, post-procedure medicines were given and all precautions were explained in detail. A personal follow-up doctor’s number was given so that proper follow-up can be taken, and if there is any query, the patient can directly call the doctor.

After the hair transplant procedure first 3 months patient was in the shedding phase and by this time around 60% implanted hair fell out. All the hairs didn’t shed at a time.
During this phase 2 PRP were given at 2 months intervals. Existing hair in the front area has shown a good response to PRP & medical treatment. And his hair fall of existing hairs stopped.
Donor area skin heals completely by the end of 30 days & hair density looks normal by the end of 2-3 months.
This phase starts after 3-4 months. At this phase, implanted hairs started coming out of the scalp slowly. 3rd PRP was given to boost transplanted hair growth and existing hairs. Trimmed existing hairs almost achieved full density look at the end of 5th month.
This phase starts at around 6-7 months. During these months implanted hairs grew fully achieving nearly 80% of transplanted hairs, though the length of each hair is not similar, it is enough to do a haircut and Kaushik was fully satisfied with it. 1 booster PRP was given at this phase at 9 months.
The full hair transplant result of Kaushik Vaughan was achieved at 10 months. You can see the pictures below. Here the patient is able to do any hairstyle. The patient had 2-3 haircuts of the donor area as well as transplanted hairs.
No major medical care is given now, patient was asked to continue minoxidil & if required do booster PRP as needed in future for maintaining exiting hair.
