Today we have a review of our patient Ravi Verma with his hair transplant journey in this article with photographs and hope you will enjoy this.
Ravi Verma is 33 years old male from Rajasthan, India.
He had started hair fall complain since 4-5 years ago. He had started noticing baldness since last 2-3 years ago. At present he had lost his hairline completely with hair loss in front area. But his middle is in good condition with mild thinning with 2 grade baldness.
Along with hair loss he is also suffering from mild dandruff and mild active ongoing hair fall.
Genetically his father having baldness but late onset of hair loss. So, genetically he is more prone to hair loss.
Ravi is not suffering from any medical conditions such as blood pressure, diabetes or any other disease.
Previously, Ravi had not undergone for any major surgery in the body.
Patient has not any allergy to food or medicine.
He has no any kind of allergic or surgical history or keloid in the body.
Ravi Verma had taken some treatment for hair fall such as minoxidil, multivitamins. Such treatment showed mild improvement initially. But later on, no major improvement noticed.
Finally, he had consulted to Dr. Jinkal Kunjadiya, a famous dermatologist at our Surat branch. He was consulted with all details about hair transplant, and his health conditions.
Ravi Verma’s hair transplant was done on 3rd June 2021 using DHT technique and after transplant 3 PRP was done at 2 months interval in 6 months.
He was also treated with supplements, DHT blocker and Minoxidil 5% and 10% solution post-transplant to maintain and grow his existing as well as transplanted hairs.
hairline design was done by Dr. Jinkal Kunjadiya as per patient desire and Hair loss condition of patient. Front area with temple was marked.
Also, Tracheoscopy analysis done to check donor area hair quality and existing hair quality in recipient area. Patient’s donor area is average to good and hair quality is thick and type of hair is straight and black.
Then after anesthesia skin sensitivity test done and found non allergic to anesthesia content.
Afterwords, Patient head shaved for procedure and cleaned with betadine & alcohol.
Now Ravi Verma was taken in the operation theater for hair transplant and local modified block anesthesia was given with vibration pain less technique.
Slit making done by expert hair transplant surgeon team by using Saphire tip blade and the size of blade is 1.2 for hairline and 1.4 for rest areas using magnifying loupe.
Making slit that is small incision in the recipient area is a very important step because the angle and the direction of the slit gives proper direction and overall look of the future transplanted hair.
Extraction of grafts carefully done by expert doctor using magnifying loupe and 0.8 mm sharp serrated sterile titanium punch used for extraction.
Around 90 minutes time taken for extracting the grafts.
If we classify the Graft analysis of Ravi, it was medium width hairs, dark black in color. Double rooted grafts are Verma in quantity. 20% was single rooted grafts and rest 80% was multiple root grafts containing double and triple rooted grafts from all extracted grafts.
Ravi has also average number of 3 rooted grafts. So, he will get Verma benefits in terms of density.
Total 2710 grafts were extracted.
The extracted grafts were stored at 4* degree temperature in graft chiller machine dip in Gro factor solution.
The final step is implantation of extracted grafted into the slit made. The Graft insertion was done by using K.E.E.P implanter of various size for 1,2,3 FU grafts. Approximate Time taken for implantation was 2and half hours.
After completion of implantation dressing was done, post procedure medicines given and all precaution explained in detail.
Personal follow up doctor’s number was given, so that proper follow up can be taken and if there is any query, patient can directly call to the doctor.

After post hair transplant procedure first 2 months patient was under shedding phase and by this time around 60% implanted hair fall out. All the hairs didn’t shed at a time. During this phase 2 PRP were given at 2 months interval.
Exiting hair in middle shown good response to PRP & medical treatment. And his hair fall of existing hairs stopped. Donor area skin heals completely by the end of 30 days & hair density looks normal by the end of 2-3 months in the donor.
This phase starts after 3-4 months. At this phase implanted hairs started coming out of the scalp slowly. 3rd PRP was given to boost transplanted hair growth and exiting hairs.
Trimmed existing hairs almost achieved full density look at the end of 5th month.
This phase starts at around 6-7 months. During these months implanted hairs grown fully achieving neared 80% of transplanted hairs, though length of each hair is not similar, but it is enough to do haircut and Ravi was fully satisfied with it. 1 booster PRP was given at this phase at 9 months.
Full hair transplant result of Ravi Verma was achieved at 10 months. You can see the pictures below. Here patient is able to do any hair style. Patient had 2-3 haircut of donor area as well as of transplanted hairs.
No major medical care given now, patient asked to continue minoxidil & if required do booster PRP as per need in future for maintaining exiting hair.
