Today we have a review with hair transplant journey of our patient Sumeet kotharkar. We will share his case study in this article.
Sumeet Kotharkar is 32 years old male from Bhubaneswar city in Odisha in India, and doing a job in the city.
He is suffering from hairfall problem since more than 6 years. He had started noticing baldness of grade 5 level since last 4 to 5 years ago. At present he had lost his hairline competly as well thining in front area. His middle & crown area are also having thining of the hair requiring refilling transplant.
Along with hair loss he is also suffering from mild dandruff and mild active ongoing hair fall.
Genetically his father having baldness but late onset of hair loss. So, genetically he is more prone to hair loss.
Sumeet is not suffering from any medical conditions such as blood pressure, diabetes or any other disease.
Previously, Sumeet had not undergone for any major surgery in the body.
Patient has not any allergy to food or medicine.
Patient has no any keloid in the body.
Sumeet had taken some hairfall-related treatment. He had watched our videos on Instagram and YouTube and impressed with the results of our patients. Therefore, he decided to do hair transplant surgery at our Surat branch of HFHG clinic.
Finally, he had consulted to Dr. Jinkal Kunjadiya, a renowed dermatologist and hair transplant surgeon at our Surat branch. He was given a thorough knowledge about hair transplant, and hair health conditions of Sumeet, discussed his expectations, results of hair transplants with all advantages and disadvantages.
After a thorough understanding of hair transplant surgery, Sumeet got ready for the surgery. And finally, He was taken for the hair transplant procedure.
Sumeet kotharkar’s hair transplant was done on 26th february 2022 using Big-FUE technique. Post-transplant he was advised 3 PRP at 2 months interval in 6 months along with supplements, DHT blocker and Minoxidil 5% solution to maintain and grow his existing as well as transplanted hairs.
Supplements with multivitamins, DHT blockers like finasteride and Minoxidil 5% and 10% solution was given post-transplant to maintain and grow his thinned hairs as well as transplanted hairs.
Hairline design was done by Dr. Jinkal Kunjadiya as per patient desire and Hair loss condition of patient.
Also, Trichoscopy analysis done to check donor area hair quality and exiting hair quality in recepient area. Patient’s donor area is good and hair quality is thick and long in length black hair.
Then after anesthesia skin sensitivity test done and found non allergic to anesthesia content.
Afterwords, Patient head shaved for procedure and cleaned with betadine.
Now Sumeet was taken in the operation theater for hair transplant and local modified block anesthesia was given with vibration pain less technique.
Slit making done by expert hair transplant surgeon team using Diamond cristal stone Saphhire tip blade and the size of blade is 1.2 for hairline and 1.4 for rest areas using magnifying loupe. It is a very important step and the angle and the direction of the slit need to be taken care. So that there will be natural looking hairline and hairs will grow in proper direction.
Extraction of grafts carefully done by expert doctor using magnifying loupe and 0.8 mm sharp serrated sterile titanium punch used for extraction.
Around 120 to 130 minutes time taken for exctracting the grafts.
If we classify the Graft analysis of sumeet, it was thick hairs, dark black in color. Double-rooted grafts are more in quantity. Among all extracted grafts 15% was single rooted grafts and rest 85% was multiple root grafts containing double and triple rooted grafts. sumeet has also good number of 3 rooted grafts. So, he will get more benefits in terms of density. Total 4132 grafts were extracted.
The extracted grafts were stored at 4* degree temperature in graft chiller machine dip in Go factor solution and hypothermal solution.
The final step is implantation of extracted grafted into the slit made. The Graft insertion was done by using K.E.E.P implanter of various size for 1,2,3 FU grafts. Approximate Time taken for implantation was 2 to 2 and half hours.
After completion of implantation dressing was done, post-procedure medicines given and all precaution explained in detail. Personal follow up doctor’s number was given, so that proper follow up can be taken and if there is any query, patient can directly call to the doctor.
After post hair transplant procedure first 2-3 months patient was under shedding phase were majority implanted hair fall out. All the hairs didn’t shed at a time. During this phase 1 PRP were given at 2 months interval. Exiting hair in middle area shown good response to PRP & medical treatment. And his hairfall of existing hairs stopped.
Donor area skin heals completely by the end of 1 month & hair density looks normal by the end of 2 months in the donor.
This phase starts at 3 months. Now slowly implanted hairs started sprouting filling the blank areas in hairline and front area. 2nd PRP was given to boost transplanted hair growth and exiting hairs at 4 months. Trimmed existing hairs almost achieved full density look at the end of 4th month.
This phase starts at around 6-7 month. During these months implanted hairs started growing fast with almost more than 90% density, though length of each hair is not similar, but with small hair length hairstyle patient is comfortable and satisfied. 1 booster PRP was given at this phase at 8 months.
Full hair transplant result of Sumeet Kotharkar was achieved at 10 months. Here patient is able to do any hair style. Patient had 2-3 haircut in donor area and front area as well. Patient asked to continue minoxidil & if required do booster PRP as per need in future for maintaining exiting hair.
As the final result was achieved, Patient was very happy and fully satisfied with the treatment protocol provided. Now, Sumeet enjoys his desirable hair transplant results with full confidence when he is in social. You can watch his result photos below.
