Hello friends, Prajwal Patil is with us today and will discuss his case with full hair transplant journey with all available photographs and video reviews and hope you will enjoy this case study.
Prajwal Patil is 23 years old male from Vijayawada city of Andhra Pradesh state of India.
He is suffering from Grade of baldness level 2A level since last 4 to 5 years. At present he had lost his hairline competly with thining of his front area. His top and crown area are in good condition requiring no transplant.
He has also dandruff issues with dryness of scalp.
In family, his father also suffering from baldness. Therefore, genetically he is more prone to hairloss.
Prajwal having not any medical conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, or any other disease at present.
Previously Prajwal was not undergone for any major surgery in the body.
Patient has not any allergy to food or medicine.
He has no any history of keloid in the body.
Prajwal had not taken any major treatment for hairfall. After noticing front hairloss he directly came here for consultation after watching videos on Instagram and YouTube.
Dr. Jinkal Kunjadiya is a famous dermatologist at our Surat branch who consulted Prajwal. He was explained all details about hair transplant, and all possible outcomes of the surgery.
We also discussed his expectations, and given thorough knowledge about results of hair transplants and also adviced to maintain his existing hairs. After getting proper knowledge, Prajwal is now ready for the surgery.
Prajwal Patil’s hair transplant surgery was planned on 14th December 2023 using I-FUE (Implanter FUE) and after transplant 3 PRP was done at 2 months interval and lateron for maintainance 1 PRP at every 3 to 4 months interval.
According to his condition, he was also adviced multivitamins supplements, DHT blocker and Minoxidil 5% solution post-transplant to maintain and grow his existing as well as transplanted hairs.
Hairline design with marking of front area was planned by Dr. Jinkal Kunjadiya↗️ and team according to the hairloss condition of the patient. Middle and top area at present not requiring refilling hair transplant.
Donor area was checked in Trichoscopy to access hair quality. Patient’s donor area is in good condition and hair quality is thick and with blackish hairs. Afterwards, anesthesia skin sensitivity test done and Prajwal found non allergic to anesthesia medicine. Now, Prajwal’s head shaved for procedure and cleaned with betadine.
After all preparation for the surgery, Prajwal was taken in the operation theater for hair transplant and first step was slit making. For that local modified block anesthesia was given with painless technique. Prajwal was very well comfortable with anesthesia procedure and only little bit pain just like ant bite was there only during anesthesia. After that, no pain was there. His head was heavy. Now he is ready for the next step. He had very good experience of painless anesthesia.
After completion of anesthesia, now it’s time to make slit that is small incisions in the recepient area. Slit making done by expert hair transplant surgeon team with Dr. Jinkal using Metal Saphhire blade. Hairline was done using 1.2 sized blade and rest front area was dlitted with 1.4 size blade under magnifying loupe for better visuals. During making slit, a special care was taken to give proper angle and direction of the slit. So that his transplanted hair grows in perfect angle and direction with natural looking hairline.
Now, it’s time to extract grafts from donor. Extraction of grafts carefully done by expert doctor using magnifying loupe and 0.8 mm sharp serrated sterile titanium punch used for extraction. Total time taken for extraction was around 100 to 120 minutes. Total 3005 grafts were extracted which was suffient to cover 2nd grade of baldness.
If we classify the Graft analysis of Prajwal, it was thin grafts and short in length, light to dark black in color. 20% was single rooted grafts and rest 80% was multiple root grafts containing double and triple follicular units in a graft.
The extracted grafts were stored at 4* degree temperature in graft chiller machine dip using RL solution which prevents damage to the extracted grafts on outside atmoshere.
The final step is implantation of extracted grafted into the incisions made. The Graft insertion was done by using K.E.E.P implanter which is advance tool and various sizes of KEEP were used for different sizes of grafts. Approximate Time taken for implantation was 3 hours.
After completion of implantation dressing was done properly, post procedure medicines given and all precaution explained in detail. Personal follow up doctor was also assigned to take care of any issues to the patient.

First 3 months of post-transplant patient was shedding phase and by this time around 70% of implanted hair fall out. The patient was anxious about this shedding phase. Exiting hair in middle and crown area shown good response to PRP and medicines given. And his hairfall of existing hairs almost stopped.
Donor area hair density looked normal by the end of 2-3 months in the donor.
This phase started after 3 months. At this phase implanted hairs started coming out of the scalp slowly. 2nd PRP was given on 4th month of transplant to boost transplanted hair growth and exiting hairs.
This phase starts at around 5-6 months. During these months implanted hairs grown fully achieving neared 80% of transplanted hairs. At this stage, he can also do haircut. On this month Prajwal’s look was completely changed due to good result of hair transplant. 1 PRP was given at 6th month after transplant and this was 3rd PRP. Now all other PRP will be given at 3 months of interval.
Full hair transplant result of Prajwal Patil was achieved at 8-10 months. You can see the pictures given below. Here patient is able to do any hair style. Patient had 2-3 haircut of donor area as well as of transplanted hairs. Prajwal was asked to continue minoxidil. Booster PRP was done at 9th months and adviced to continue PRP at every 3 to 4 months for maintaining exiting and transplanted hairs.
