Today we have a review of our patient Ajay Ramani in this article with discussion of his hair transplant journey and hope you will enjoy this study.
Ajay Ramani is 29 years old male from the Borsad city in Gujarat state of India.
He had started hairfall complain since 5 to 6 years ago. He had started prominantly noticing baldness since last 4 to 5 years ago. At present he had lost his hairline competly with hairloss in front area. His middle has mild thining that is diffuse hairloss. But the crown has less thinning compare to middle or top area.
Mild dandruff is also issue with Ajay with occassional itching in the scalp. At present no active ongoing hair fall going on.
Genetically, his father also having baldness issue.
Ajay is not suffering from any medical issues like such as high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, or any other disease at present and no medicine is going on.
Previously Ajay was not undergone for any major surgery in the body.
Patient has not any allergy to food or medicine.
He has no any history of keloid in the body.
Ajay had taken some treatment for hairfall such as minoxidil and multivitamins earlier with some improvement in existing hairs. But lateron, he had decided to do hair transplant for completle bald area.
Finally, Ajay had decided to do hair transplant after getting motivated from social media video of Hairfree Hairgrow clinic and he consulted to Dr. Jinkal Kunjadiya, a famous dermatologist at our Surat branch of Hairfree Hairgrow clinic. Dr. Jinkal explained every details in depth with all prones and cones and also expectation and result overview also explained.
After a thorough understanding of hair transplant surgery, Ajay got ready with the surgery at Surat branch of HFHG clinic. And finally, the he was taken for hair transplant procedure.
Ajay Ramani’s hair transplant was done on 30th June 2022 with I-FUE technique. 5 PRP was done at 2 months interval in 1 year as a part of hair care and maintainace. He was also treated with supplements, DHT blocker and Minoxidil 5% and 10% solution post-transplant to maintain and grow his existing as well as transplanted hairs.
Trichoscopy analysis also done to check donor area hair quality and exiting hair quality in recepient area. Patient’s donor area is average to good and hair quality is thick and type of hair is mild wavy to straight and black hairs.
Then after anesthesia skin sensitivity test done and found non allergic to anesthesia content. So he was safe for the surgery.
Afterwords, Patient head shaved for procedure and cleaned with betadine & alcohol
Now Ajay was taken in the operation theater for hair transplant and local modified block anesthesia was given with pain less technique to minimize the pain during anesthesia.
Slit making done by the doctor team with Dr. Jinkal using Metal Saphhire tip blade and the size of blade is 1.2 for hairline and 1.4 for rest areas using magnifying loupe.
Making slit that is small incision in the recepient area is a very important step because the angle and the direction of the hairs matters a lot for overall look of the future transplanted hair.
Extraction of grafts carefully done by expert doctor using magnifying loupe and 0.8 mm sharp serrated sterile titanium punch used for extraction.
Total 3542 grafts were extracted in around 120 to 130 minutes.
If we classify the Graft analysis of Ajay, it was thick hairs, light to dark black in color. Double rooted grafts are more in quantity. 20% was single rooted grafts and rest 80% was multiple root grafts containing double and triple rooted grafts from all extracted grafts. Ajay has also average number of 3 rooted grafts. So, he will get more benefits in terms of density.
The extracted grafts were stored at 4* degree temperature in graft chiller machine dip in RL solution.
The final step is implantation of extracted grafted into the slit made. The Graft insertion was done by using K.E.E.P implanter of various size for single and multiple Follicular Units grafts. Approximate Time taken for implantation was two and half hours.
After completion of implantation dressing was done, post procedure medicines was given and all precaution explained in detail. Personal follow up doctor’s number was given, so that proper follow up can be taken and if there is any query, patient can directly contact with the follow-up doctor.

Ajay was under shedding phase for first 3 months after hair transplant. In shedding phase hair shaft shed out but root is fix under the skin. By this time around 60% implanted hair fall out and this is normal. After 2 months first PRP was given.
Exiting hair in middle and crown area shown good response to PRP & medical treatment. And his hairfall of existing hairs stopped. Donor area skin heals completely by the end of 30 days and hair density looks normal by the end of 2-3 months in the donor.
The growth phase of Ajay started after 3 months. At this phase implanted hairs started coming out of the scalp slowly. At every month around 20% transplanted hair grows. After end of 6 months implanted hairs grown fully achieving neared 80% of transplanted hairs. 2nd and 3rd PRP was given to boost transplanted hair growth and exiting hairs at interval of 2 months.
Ajay had done a haircut after 5 months of transplant. Initially, transplanted hairs are thin but by the time it also get thickened. Ajay was fully satisfied with it.
Full hair transplant result of Ajay Ramani was achieved at 10-11 months. You can see the pictures below. Here patient is able to do any hair style. Patient had 2-3 haircut of donor area as well as of transplanted hairs.
No major medical care given now, patient asked to continue minoxidil & if required do booster PRP as per need at interval of 3-4 months for maintaining exiting hair.
