Hello friends, Aamir Desai is with us today and will discuss his case with full hair transplant journey with photographs and video reviews and hope you will enjoy this case study.
Aamir Desai is 27 years old male from Hyderabad, India.
He is suffering from Grade of baldness level 4 to 5 level since last 4 to 5 years. But he had started hairfall complaint 7-8 years ago. At present he had lost his hairline competly. But his front, top and crown area has much thining of hairs. So, all these areas will require refilling transplant and we had planned accordingly.
Along with hairloss he has dandruff issues, pimples all over scalp with dryness.
In family, his father also suffering from baldness. Therefore, genetically he is more prone to hairloss.
Aamir is not suffering from any medical issues like such as high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, or any other disease at present.
Previously Aamir was not undergone for any major surgery in the body.
Patient has not any allergy to food or medicine.
He has no any history of keloid in the body.
Aamir had taken some treatment for hairfall such as minoxidil, multivitamins before 3 years only for few months. Such treatment showed littlebit improvement.
Finally, he had consulted to Dr. Jinkal Kunjadiya, a famous dermatologist at our Surat branch. He was consulted with all details about hair transplant, and his hair health conditions. We also discussed his expectations, and given thorough knowledge about results of hair transplants and also adviced to maintain his existing hairs. After a thorough understanding of hair transplant surgery, Aamir is now ready for the surgery.
Aamir Desai’s hair transplant surgery was planned on 17th January 2024 using Big-FUE and DHT technique which is most advanced technique at present and after transplant 3 PRP was done at 2 months interval and lateron for maintainance 1 PRP at every 3 to 4 months interval. Along this he was also treated with multivitamins supplements, DHT blocker and Minoxidil 5% and 10% solution post-transplant to maintain and grow his existing as well as transplanted hairs.
Proper planning and hairline design was done by Dr. Jinkal Kunjadiya and team according to the hairloss condition of the patient. Hiarline, Front, middle and crown area was marked. Middle and top area requiring refilling hair transplant. Donor area was checked in Trichoscopy to access hair quality. Patient’s donor area is in good condition and hair quality is thick and with blackish hairs. Afterwards, anesthesia skin sensitivity test done and Aamir found non allergic to anesthesia medicine. Now, Aamir’s head shaved for procedure and cleaned with betadine.
Now Aamir was taken in the operation theater for hair transplant and first step was slit making. For that local modified block anesthesia was given with painless technique. Aamir was very well comfortable with anesthesia and only little bit pain just like ant bite was there only during anesthesia. After that, no pain was there. He had very good experience of painless anesthesia.
After completion of anesthesia, now it’s time to make slit that is small incisions in the recepient area. Slit making done by expert hair transplant surgeon team with Dr. Jinkal using Diamond stone Saphhire tip blade and the size of blade is 1.2 for hairline and 1.4 for rest areas using magnifying loupe. During making slit, a special care was taken to give proper angle and direction of the slit. So that his transplanted hair grows in perfect angle and direction with natural looking hairline.
Now, it’s time to extract grafts from donor. Extraction of grafts carefully done by expert doctor using magnifying loupe and 0.8 mm sharp serrated sterile titanium punch used for extraction.
Extraction of grafts was done in 3 parts that is the part of DHT technique. Total time taken for extraction was around 130 to 150 minutes. Total 4216 grafts were extracted.
If we classify the Graft analysis of Aamir, it was average and long size grafts, light to dark black in color. 15% was single rooted grafts and rest 85% was multiple root grafts containing double and triple rooted grafts from all extracted grafts.
The extracted grafts were stored at 4* degree temperature in graft chiller machine dip using Hypothermal and GroFactor solution which prevents damage to the extracted grafts on outside atmoshere.
The final step is implantation of extracted grafted into the incisions made. The implantation of grafts was done in 3 parts as extraction was also done in 3 parts to prevent damage to the grafts in outside atmosphere. The Graft insertion was done by using K.E.E.P implanter which is advance tool and various sizes of KEEP were used for different sizes of grafts. Approximate Time taken for implantation was 3 hours.
After completion of implantation dressing was done, post procedure medicines given and all precaution explained in detail. Personal follow up doctor was also assigned to take care of any issues to the patient.
First 3 months of post-transplant patient was shedding phase and by this time around 65-70% implanted hair fall out which is absolutely normal. All the hairs didn’t shed at a time. Every month 20-30% shedding happens. First shedded hairs grows first. During this phase 1 PRP was given at 2 months after transplant. Exiting hair in middle and crown area shown good response to PRP medicines given. And his hairfall of existing hairs stopped.
Donor area hair density looked normal by the end of 2-3 months in the donor.
This phase started after 3 months. At this phase implanted hairs started coming out of the scalp slowly. 2nd PRP was given on 4th month of transplant to boost transplanted hair growth and exiting hairs.
This phase starts at around 6-7 months. During these months implanted hairs grown fully achieving neared 80% of transplanted hairs, though length of each hair is not similar, but it is enough to do haircut. On this months Aamir’s look was completely changed due to good result of hair transplant. 1 PRP was given at 6th month after transplant and this was 3rd PRP. Now all other PRP will be given at 3 months of interval.
Full hair transplant result of Aamir Desai was achieved at 10 months. You can see the pictures given below. Here patient is able to do any hair style. Patient had 2-3 haircut of donor area as well as of transplanted hairs. Aamir was asked to continue minoxidil. Booster PRP was done at 9th months and adviced to continue PRP at every 3 to 4 months for maintaining exiting and transplanted hairs.
