HairFree and HairGrow began its journey in 2012 with its first clinics in Surat and Pune. Founded by Dr. Chintan Bhavsar, Dr. Kiran Chotaliya, and Dr. Pankaj Khunt, the clinic has since expanded into a growing network of 13 locations across India, along with an international presence in Bangladesh.
HairFree and HairGrow focuses on hair transplant and hair restoration, with treatment plans based on each patient’s hair loss, donor area, hairline and overall needs. The goal is to recommend the right treatment rather than follow a one-size-fits-all approach.
The clinic offers hair restoration procedures including FUE, Sapphire FUE, BIG-FUE and implanter-based hair transplantation, as well as non-surgical options such as PRP and GFC therapy. Each procedure is planned around factors such as graft requirements, hairline design and the patient’s existing hair pattern.
From its first clinics in Surat and Pune to its presence across India and Bangladesh, HairFree and HairGrow has continued to build its hair restoration practice around medical consultation, personalised treatment planning and patient care. The clinic currently reports a 98% success rate across its treatments.
Outside the clinic, HFHG’s doctors stay active in the field. Dr. Chintan Bhavsar and Dr. Kiran Chotaliya have presented case studies at dermatology conferences, run hair fall awareness seminars for corporate groups, and holds memberships with bodies like IADVL and the Indian Medical Association.

Dr. Chintan Bhavsar has been performing hair transplant surgery and treating dermatological conditions for 12 years, the last 9 as a specialist. He completed his MBBS at Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal, and his M.D. in Skin & V.D. at Medical College, Baroda, before going on to co-found HairFree and HairGrow in 2012.
He has presented case studies and posters at dermatology conferences, including work on Hansen’s disease relapse and Hydroa Vacciniforme, and has led hair fall awareness seminars for corporate groups including Kirloskar Oil Engines.

Dr. Kiran Chotaliya has spent 11 years in dermatology and hair transplant surgery, the last 9 as a specialist. He completed his MBBS and M.D. in Skin & V.D. at Medical College, Baroda, and trained specifically in hair transplant surgery at ADHI-India before co-founding HairFree and HairGrow.
He has led HFHG’s Pune clinic as Chief Hair Transplant Surgeon since 2015, and consults separately at Urban Skin and Hair Clinic in Pune. His approach centres on Advanced FUE technique performed daily, with an emphasis on giving patients a clear, honest assessment of whether they’re a good candidate for transplant surgery before recommending it.

Dr. Pankaj Khunt is a Co-Founder of HairFree and HairGrow and an experienced Hair Transplant Consultant with an MD qualification from Ukraine. Since the organisation’s inception, he has been involved in shaping its clinical approach, operations and patient-care systems.
His role includes treatment planning, clinical coordination, quality management, team leadership and patient follow-up. He focuses on creating a well-organised and transparent treatment journey, with patient needs at the centre of every decision.
As HairFree and HairGrow has expanded across multiple locations, Dr. Pankaj continues to focus on consistent clinical standards, efficient processes and personalised patient care.
Consultation, planning, surgery, and follow-up are all handled by a qualified doctor, not handed off after the initial consult.
Our founding doctors hold M.D. qualifications in Dermatology (Skin & V.D.), not general practice certifications adapted for hair transplant work.
