Today we have a patient Atul Tiwari who come to the clinic for second session with a hairline correction in previously failed hair transplant.
In this article, we will go through his journey for transplant with photographs and hope you will enjoy it.
Atul Tiwari is 27 years old male from Ankleshwar, Gujarat.
He is suffering from Grade of baldness level 7. He had started hair fall complain since 6 to 7 years ago. He had started noticing baldness since last 3 to 4 years ago. At present he had lost his hairline completely with hair loss in front, middle and crown area.
He had gone through a hair transplant before 1 year in some other clinic where he covered front area.
In family, his father has baldness. So, genetically he is more prone to hair loss.
Atul is not suffering from any medical issues.
Patient hasn’t any keloid in the body.
Atul had gone through a hair transplant before 1 year in some other clinic where he covered front area. But not satisfied with results and a look.
Finally, he consulted Dr. Jinkal Kunjadiya, a famous dermatologist at our Surat branch. He was consulted with all details about hair transplant, and his hair and scalp health conditions. And pt also discussed his expectations and, the bad results of the previous transplant results.
After getting proper knowledge of hairline correction and refilling hair transplant surgery, Atul got ready for the surgery at the Surat branch of Hairfree and Hairgrow clinic. And finally, he was taken for the hair transplant procedure.
Atul Tiwari’s hair transplant was done on 13th January 2023 using I-FUE technique and after transplant 5 PRP was done at 2 month interval in 1 year.
He was also treated with supplements, DHT blocker and Minoxidil 5% and 10% solution post-transplant to maintain and grow his transplanted hairs.
Also, a Trichoscopy analysis done to check donor area hair quality and existing hair quality in recepient area. Patient’s donor area is average to good and hair quality is thick and black.
Then after anaesthesia skin sensitivity test done and found non-allergic to anaesthesia content.
Afterwards, the Patient’s head was shaved for the procedure and cleaned with betadine & alcohol.
Now Atul was taken in the operation theatre for hair transplant and local modified block anesthesia was given with painless technique.
Slit making is done by an expert hair transplant surgeon team with Dr. Jinkal using a Metal Saphhire tip blade the size of the blade are 1.2 for the hairline and 1.4 for rest areas using a magnifying loupe.
Hairline correction is done with the zigzag patterned hairline.
Extraction of grafts carefully done by expert doctor using magnifying loupe and 0.8 mm sharp serrated sterile titanium punch used for extraction.
Around 120 minutes were taken to extract the grafts.
Grafts containing thick hairs, light to dark black in colour. Double-rooted grafts are more in quantity. 30% were single-rooted grafts and the rest 70% were multiple-root grafts containing double-rooted grafts from all extracted grafts.
We have also extracted the grafts from the previous hairline to give a proper look.
We didn’t get enough grafts from the donor area because of the previous session so we went for beard extraction.
A total of 4004 grafts were extracted from the donor and beard area.
The extracted grafts were stored in a graft chiller machine dip in RL solution.
The final step is the implantation of extracted grafted into the slit. The Graft insertion was done by using a K.E.E.P implanter. The approximate Time taken for implantation was 4 hours.
After completion of implantation dressing was done, post-procedure medicines were given and all precautions were explained in detail. A personal follow-up doctor’s number was given, so that proper follow-up can be taken and if there is any query, the patient can directly call to the doctor.

After post hair transplant procedure first 3 months patient was under shedding phase and by this time around 60% implanted hair fall out. All the hairs didn’t shed at a time.
During this phase 2 PRP were given at 2 months interval. Existing hair in front area shown good response to PRP & medical treatment. And his hairfall of existing hairs stopped.
Donor area skin heals completely by the end of 30 days & hair density looks normal by the end of 2-3 months.
This phase starts after 3-4 months. At this phase implanted hairs started coming out of the scalp slowly. 3rd PRP was given to boost transplanted hair growth and exiting hairs. Trimmed existing hairs almost achieved full density look at the end of 5th month.
This phase starts at around 6-7 months. During these months implanted hairs grown fully achieving neared 80% of transplanted hairs, though length of each hair is not similar, but it is enough to do haircut and Atul was fully satisfied with it. 1 booster PRP was given at this phase at 9 months.
The full hair transplant result of Atul Tiwari was achieved at 10 months. You can see the pictures below. Here the patient is able to do any hairstyle. The patient had 2-3 haircuts of the donor area as well as transplanted hairs.
No major medical care is given now, the patient asked to continue minoxidil & if required do booster PRP as needed in future to maintain existing hair.
